The England and Wales Cricket Board on Friday (September 20) announced a list of 10 red and 12 white-ball contracts offered to its men's cricketers for the 2019/20 season.

The national selectors awarded contracts in both the formats to pace sensation Jofra Archer for the first time after he played a key role in country's maiden World Cup triumph and helped to level up the Ashes this summer.

Opener Rory Burns got a Test contract after solid performances against Australia and Joe Denly a white-ball deal with ECB for the first time.

Spin twins Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, who held contracts across all three formats last year, have been demoted and pinned for white-ball deals only.

Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett and David Willey missed out on a white-ball contract for the 2019-20 season.

"Test specialists and those playing in all forms of the game will have their salaries paid in full by the ECB," the board wrote in a media release. "From 1 February 2020, the start of the ECB 2020 Financial Year, those on White Ball contracts will move from receiving a supplement on top of their County salary, to having their salaries paid in full by the ECB as per Test contracted players."

"Under the structure, players in both formats receive a ‘ranking’ based on their performances on the pitch, as well as a number of other factors, including off-field contribution, fielding and fitness. Those rankings then correlate with the level of remuneration."

Besides red and white-ball contracts, the ECB also offered increment deals, with Jake Leach and Tom Curran being the only two beneficiaries.
