Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors faced each other in the 15th match of Caribbean Premier League at Sabina Park on Wednesday (September 18).

Sent to into bat by Tallawahs skipper Chadwick Walton, Guyana posted a mammoth 218/6 in 20 overs on the back of captain Shoaib Malik’s 37-ball 67 and opener Brandon King’s 37-ball 59. Shimron Hetmyer also played a valuable knock of 44 from 25 deliveries.

Amid the carnage, it was Andre Russell who returned with the respectable bowling figures of 4-0-35-2 for the Tallawahs.

Defending to total, Guyana bowlers didn’t allow any substantial partnership to flourish. While Keemo Paul claimed 3 for 34 in his 3 overs, Imran Tahir (2/21) and Qais Ahmad (2/32) dented the hosts with a couple of wickets.

Chasing the daunting target, none of the Jamaica batsmen managed to cross the 40-run mark as Guyana eventually bundled out the home team for 137 in 17.3 overs, securing a thumping 81-run victory.

Brief Scores:

Guyana Amazon Warriors – 218/6 in 20 overs (Shoaib Malik 67; Andre Russell 2/35) defeated Jamaica Tallawahs – 137/10 in 17.3 overs (Andre Russell 40; Keemo Paul 3/34) by 81 runs.
