Kaun Banega Crorepati contestant quits show after facing a tough Sir Don Bradman question for Rs. 7 crore

The question was related to Don Bradman's 100th first class century.

KBC contestant with Amitabh Bachchan

An IAS aspirant named Sanoj Singh could have won seven crore rupees price money in the famous game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 hosted by the great Amitabh Bachchan. The question asked for the massive amount was related to cricket.

It goes like this, "Who was the Indian bowler of whom Australian legend Don Bradman got a single to reach his 100th first-class century?"  The options were: A) Baqa Jilani, B) Commandur Rangachari, C) Gogumal Kishenchand and D) Kanwar Rai Singh.

Sanoj played it safe and decided not to go for the guess. He didn't know the answer and quit the game. Before going, host Amitabh Bachchan asked him to guess an answer. He went for Commandur Rangachari, which turned out to be the wrong answer.

The answer was Gogumal Kishenchand who had bowled to the Australian great. Bradman, who was then batting on 99, took a single to complete his 100th First-Class hundred. The then India captain Lala Amarnath had given the ball to Gogumal minutes before Tea when Bradman was batting on 99. He had never faced the bowler ever and it was a bit tricky for him; the former Australia great admitted it later.

While Bradman scored his 100th hundred, it was Indian side which defeated the Australian XI.

The scorecard of the match:

Indians 326 (Gul Mohammad 85, Gogumal Kishenchand 75*, Jenni Irani 43; Sam Loxton 3 for 70) and 304 for 9 decl. (Chandu Sarwate 58, Hemu Adhikari 46, Gogumal Kishenchand 63*; Bill Johnston 4 for 71) beat Australian XI 380 (Don Bradman 172, Keith Miller 86; Ranga Sohoni 4 for 89) and 203 (Neil Harvey 56*; Vinoo Mankad 8 for 84) by 47 runs.
