India’s ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is living out a dream career in Test cricket ever since making a surprise debut in January of 2018 against South Africa. Since then, he has been amazing with the red ball, playing all of his 12 Tests outside India and has picked 62 wickets so far.
He averages 19.24 and has 5 five-wicket hauls which came in South Africa, England, Australia, and West Indies with best bowling figures of 6/27. This has resulted in Bumrah becoming the no.3 ranked bowler in the latest ICC Test rankings. In a Player-of-the-Series performance in the two Tests in Antigua and Jamaica, he finished with 13 wickets at 9.23. That included figures of 5/7 in the first Test and a hat-trick in the first innings at Sabina Park as India won 2-0.
His captain Virat Kohli termed him as the most complete bowler in the world. Bumrah already holds the no.1 rank in ICC ODI rankings for bowlers and now has career-best 835 rating points, placing him behind Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins.
West Indies captain Jason Holder, who is the no.1 ranked Test all-rounder in ICC rankings, moved seven places to 814 points on the bowling chart, joining England's James Anderson in the fourth position.
Among other movers in the chart were India's pair of Mohammed Shami (up one to No.18) and Ishant Sharma (up one to No.20).
