Some incidents like match-fixing have brought the game of cricket into disrepute for a long time now. After a long time, some reports of match-fixing have emerged in Global T20 Canada. Winnipeg Hawks' batsman Umar Akmal has reported that a team official and former Pakistani international cricketer Mansoor Akhtar approached him for match-fixing.
The T20 competition which is being played in Brampton and Ontario in Canada features many current and former international cricketers. Global stars like DJ Bravo, Yuvraj Singh, Brendon McCullum have made their presence felt in the tournament.
According to reports, Akhtar, who is an official in the Winnipeg Hawks team, approached the Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal to fix matches. He reported the incident to Pakistan Cricket Board and the management at the Global T20 Canada. The anti-corruption officials have swung into action and enquire about where the sources are.
Mansoor Akhtar has played 19 Tests and 41 ODIs for Pakistan as a right-handed batsman.
