Bollywood actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol and former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir registered big wins in the recently concluded Lok Sabha 2019 polls from their respective constituencies for Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

Gambhir won from East Delhi, defeating Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely and AAP’s Atishi Marlena and is one of the seven MPs of the BJP from Delhi and might as well play a key role in the central government.

Sunny Deol, on the other hand, won from Congress’ stronghold Gurdaspur seat, beating sitting MP Sunil Jakhar. The Congress won eight of the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, a state where it came back to power since 2017, Deol managed to upstage them in one of their strongest seats.

Following the election results, Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to congratulate both Sunny Deol and his 2011 World Cup winning teammate Gautam Gambhir on their amazing victories.

For Deol, Yuvraj tweeted, “Congratulations @iamsunnydeol on your victory ! People of Gurdaspur have shown their love and faith in you and I am sure you will live up to all their expectations and love. Best wishes always ????”

While for Gambhir, Yuvraj posted “Congratulations @GautamGambhir I am confident that you will work towards bringing about a positive change in the future and make a difference. All the best keep shining ????”

Recently, the left-hander had contemplated taking retirement from international and FC cricket in order to pursue greener pastures of T20 leagues, given that he seeming has offers from Global T20 Canada and EuroSlam T20 leagues.
