Faf du Plessis hails Jacques Kallis after he was bestowed with the "Order of Ikhamanga"

Jacques Kallis is one of the legendary all-rounders that South Africa has produced. He has a kind of record which speaks for him. Kallis who has 25,534 runs and 577 wickets to his name in international cricket is an inspiration to a lot of modern-day cricket loving youngsters. For all his achievements, he was honoured with the prestigious award "Order of Ikhamanga" in the Silver Division.

The Order of Ikhamanga is awarded to the citizens of South Africa recognising the contribution in arts, music, literature, journalism and sports. On Thursday (25th April), the Presidency of South Africa tweeted about the honour which read, For his contribution to the sport of cricket and for placing South Africa on the world sporting map. His stellar career & commitment to the sport inspired many young people to aim for excellence,” as shown below.

Kallis replied to this tweet by thanking the Presidency of South Africa for the honour that was bestowed onto him. Faf du Plessis replied to this tweet from Kallis by congratulating him which read, “Well done Toppie.. the greatest player that I have ever played with. Really deserve all the recognition that comes your way.

When the CSA chief was asked about this honour for Kallis, he said: “It is highly fitting that Jacques should be honoured in this way with this prestigious award. Most important of all is the outstanding example he has set for the highest standards of sportsmanship. The traditions of the game to inspire not just aspiring young cricketers but the youth of the entire country.
