Lockie Ferguson of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has taken inspiration from Delhi Capitals (DC) opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan. Well, the inspiration isn't about cricket. Ferguson was fascinated by the twirled mustache of Dhawan and he decided to sport it too.
The Kiwi cricketer can be seen with a mustache in this IPL. His appearance grabbed attention and he was asked to speak about it.
In a conversation after the KKR home game versus KXIP, where the hosts won by 28 runs, Ferguson stated, "I have a mustache for a year or two but just this year I have started twirling the mustache to make sure it stays that way while I am playing. It is difficult to keep it up in sweaty weather conditions but I am happy that it lasts all day. Well, cricket has had a great history of great mustaches, upper lip fashion as we call it, and probably one of the national heroes I look up to is Shikhar Dhawan.
"When he was touring out New Zealand I was a big fan of his and hope he grows his mustache soon. I will encourage him to grow back his mustache when I play with Delhi Capitals next," added the pacer. KKR will next play DC on Saturday.
India cricketer Dhawan has wiped off his mustache ahead of the ongoing season.
