Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman on Friday (March 22) tied the knot with Dhaka University student Samia Parvin, who also happens to be his cousin. Mustafizur was among 17 members of the Bangladesh Test team who escaped the terrorist attack in Christchurch last week.

As per a report in Dhaka Tribune, the wedding ceremony took place at Hadipur in Satkhira where both the families were present along with other relatives.

Mustafizur’s brother, Mahfuzur Rahman Mithu urged the countrymen to pray for the couple.

“Mustafizur was really upset after coming home, following the incident in New Zealand. That’s why we decided to get him married. It was my mother’s decision. The wedding reception will take place after the World Cup,” Mithu quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune.

Just a day ago, Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan married his fiancee Rabeya Akhter Priti in a ceremony in the southwestern Bangladeshi city of Khulna.

In a horrific terrorist attack, 50 people were killed and around 20 wounded during Friday (March 15) prayers at two mosques of New Zealand’s Christchurch city.

The Bangladeshi cricketers, who were there in Christchurch to play the third Test against Black Caps, narrowly survived the shooting. Subsequently, the scheduled Test between both the nations was immediately cancelled.
