Ahmed Shehzad, the out of form Pakistani opener has revealed that he had a talk with Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar to gain advice from him in order to get back into contention for the Pakistani team.
Currently rendering his services to Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Shehzad was banned for five and half months for violating the anti-doping rule of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) two times. Shehzad was last seen in Pakistan colors in June of 2018 but has scored 53 runs in five matches, which includes two half-centuries, at an average of 38.25 in the ongoing PSL 2019.
Shehzad revealed that Sachin Tendulkar gave him valuable advice which he will follow in hopes of getting back into the national team. He said to Gulf News, “I had a talk with Sachin and he was stressing that you should not regret. In his interviews also, he has said that one should do so much hard work that there shouldn’t be any regret. I have tried to do that.”
“As a Muslim, you believe that things will happen as per the wishes of Allah but if your process is good and giving 110 percent then that’s what is important. I’m confident that I can come back into the Pakistan team. That’s one thing that one shouldn’t forget and I have learnt that from a young age,” Shehzad said.
