While everyone is condemning the attack on CRPF soldiers in Pulwama, former India cricketer and Congress politician Navjot Singh Sidhu's comments on Friday has irked his countrymen. Sidhu went on to defend Pakistan after the attack.

Sidhu asked whether an entire nation can be blamed for a handful of people. India lost 42 brave CRPF soldiers in the IED attack in Pulwama on Thursday. Pakistan based terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammad took responsibility for the attack.

The cricketer-turned-politician said, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?" Sidhu did condemn the attack. "It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished," he said.

While everyone is asking for an act of revenge, Sidhu's comment didn't go well, as instead of prioritizing the martyred soldiers, his comment on protecting Pakistan from facing the fire was irresponsible.

Many former Indian cricketers including Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, and VVS Laxman had sent condolence after the cowardly act by the terrorists.
