India opener Smriti Mandhana on Saturday climbed three places to become the numero uno batswoman in ICC ODI rankings.
Mandhana was the Player-of-the-Series in the just concluded three-match ODI series against New Zealand. She amassed the scores of 105 and 90 in the first two ODIs, helping the Women in blue clinch a historic 2-1 series win over the White Ferns.
Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning of Australia are placed at second and third positions respectively while India ODI captain Mithali Raj has slipped one spot to No. 5.
Young Jemimah Rodrigues was another Indian who saw a drastic improvement at the rankings. The 18-year-old cricketer, who has just featured in seven ODIs after making her debut in March last year, moved up 64 places. She now sits at the 61st position in the women’s batting rankings.
Among the bowlers, there was less of a reshuffle in the rankings. Veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami rose one place to No.4 while spinners Poonam Yadav and Deepti Sharma are eighth and ninth respectively.
Deepti is also fourth in the all-rounders standings and is the only Indian in the top 10.
