Young Australian leg-spinner Lloyd Pope on Sunday (January 20) revealed he is working extremely hard on all three facets to be in contention for national selection in all three formats of the game.

Pope, who took the world by storm with his sizzling bowling for Australia in the ICC U19 World Cup 2018, is currently playing for the Sydney Sixers in the ongoing 2018-19 Big Bash League (BBL).

However, the 19-year-old could not make the impact at the early stage of the T20 event, went wicketless in his first couple of BBL 08 games, but the leg-spinner made a brilliant comeback on Sunday (January 20) as he guided Sixers to a 79-run win over Brisbane Heat.

Pope, who grabbed eyeballs with his incredible figures of 8/35 against England in the U19 World Cup 2018 in New Zealand last year, has made his presence felt with his magical spell of 3/16 in given four overs against the Heat at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Recently, the young gun made headlines for his stunning show in the Sheffield Shield -becoming the youngest in the competition's 126-year history to take seven wickets 7/87 in an innings.

Given his rapid rise, Pope could make debut for Australia sooner than expected and he is also hoping to do the same and even the leg-spinner has started work on that.

Pope told reporters in Sydney after BBL match, “I don't know how far I will go but I definitely would love to play for Australia in all three formats. That's every young cricketer's dream and I'm going to try my absolute hardest to get there. I have to work on a lot of things - all three facets.”

He signed off by saying, “We've been working on a couple things in the nets, working on pace and length and things. I really tried to work that out. My run-up is a little bit longer and stuff like that – I don't know if you guys notice it. But it felt like a big change for me and it worked tonight.”
