AUS v IND 2018-19: Mohammad Yousuf not convinced with India's historic Test series win in Australia

Even Pakistan can beat Australia in Australia at the moment, says Mohammad Yousuf.

Former Pakistan batsman, Mohammad Yousuf, isn't impressed with the Indian Cricket Team’s efforts in the just-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Also, he was not convinced with India’s historic Test series win in Australia, saying even Pakistan can win a Test series in Australia at this time.

While cricket fraternity across the globe lauded Virat Kohli and his team for making history, as India became the first Asian country to have registered a Test series win on the Australia soil by winning the four-match Down Under 2-1 here, Yousuf has contrary views on their glorious achievement.

There are some views that India’s success came out over a slightly weak Australia side, especially in the absence of their talismanic batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith as both are serving ball-tampering bans at the moment.

Yousuf, one of the greatest Pakistani batsmen of his generation, believes that the current Aussie set-up was not the same that they used to be and that’s why India was dominant throughout the Test series.

He further went on to claim that Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistan could have also made history by defeating the current Aussie side if they toured Australia this time.

A Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq has shared Yousuf’s quote on his official social media handle on Friday (January 11). The post reads, “If the Pakistan team went to Australia now, even they have a chance of winning there.”

Noteworthy, Pakistan is currently badly struggling to make comeback in the South Africa series as they have already lost the Test series to the hosts 0-2 with the final Test being played in Johannesburg.
