New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who is one of the most gifted batsmen in the country and regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era along with Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Joe Root, revealed a number of facts about his cricketing choice on Wednesday.
Williamson, who is known for his calm attitude on the field beside his leadership and batting skills, has recently picked cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as his favorite batsman.
The New Zealander was enough fortunate to get the opportunity to play against Tendulkar in his career, as the Indian batting legend was also part of the national squad in a match in which Williamson made his Test debut in Ahmedabad in 2010, and even he hogged the limelight with his debut century for the Kiwis.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old also revealed that he would have loved to bat with Australian great Ricky Ponting besides Tendulkar, while picked Glenn McGrath as the only bowler from the past decade he would have loved to face on the field. He also loves rugby besides cricket and is followed very closely.
Noteworthy, New Zealand is currently Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series with the first Test ended in a draw while series decider is being progressed at Hagley Oval with the hosts ended their first innings at the paltry total of 178 while Lanka lost four wickets at just 88 in the second Test here.
