Rishabh Pant, 20, has a long way to go in his career. The budding Indian wicket-keeper is new to international cricket and has already impressed with his batting exploits. The southpaw is looking ahead and wants to be a part of World Cup 2019.

Pant is often compared with the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni. Dhoni is on his declining phase and that has made things easier for the Delhi batsman to book a place in Team India.

Talking about the comparison with his predecessor, Pant said he doesn't believe in comparisons. "I am not here to compete with anyone. For me, this phase is all about learning. I keep going up to Mahi bhai and pick up things," Pant told The Times of India.

Apart from dealing with the media, players now have to go through the wrath of social media as well. It gets really hard for cricketers to use social media platforms after a poor show on the field.

How Rishabh deals with it? "Social media is a part of everyone’s life. You can’t ignore it. But I have learned to keep off-field hype back in my room. And it doesn’t matter if you have played 500 international matches, you are bound to be nervous when you take the field and I believe that’s a good thing," he said.

Pant is groomed under Virat Kohli as the 20-year-old is clearly in awe of his captain, who also hails from the same state Delhi.

"Virat bhaiya told me that playing 50 matches doesn’t mean you are experienced. A person with three-four games can be equally experienced if he picks up from others’ mistakes," was Kohli's message to Pant as the latter incurred a 29-ball duck in the Southampton Test against England.
