South African batting superstar has announced his return to the game with a blistering innings of 93 off 31 balls to help the Tshwane Spartans beat the Jozi Stars by 5 runs in a warm-up match of the upcoming Mzansi Super League at the  Wanderers on Tuesday (November 14).

It was his first appearance in competitive cricket since announcing his retirement from international cricket almost four months ago, but the dynamic batsman looked like he has been playing all year round, showing immense skill with the bat here.

The 34-year old has plenty of T20 experience having featured in 251 T20s, with an enviable strike-rate of 147.91 ad he is now excited to be part of his country's franchise tournamnet, saying he "can't wait" for the league to begin.

In a website article, De Villiers wrote, "I have been working hard in the gym and nets, and it's all systems go."

Noteworthy, De Villiers will lead the Tshwane Spartans in the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League which will get underway from 16 November and finish on 16 December 2018, while the tournament opener will be played between the Spartans and Cape Town Blitz at Newlands on Friday.

De Villiers, who is regarded as one of the most versatile batsmen in the world of cricket, played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals for South Africa.
