After leaving an impact in all three international formats of the game, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is all set to play in the T10 league, cricket's newest invention. He will be a part of Maratha Arabians in the upcoming edition of the league later this year. He was one of the key pics for Arabians at the mini-draft held in Dubai on Monday.

Arabians also picked Australia all-rounder James Faulkner and retained Alex Hales, Dwayne Bravo and Kamran Akmal from the previous season.

The T10 league game into prominence last year with many of the greats of the game participating in the league in the United Arab Emirates. Despite its popularity, the format failed to garner the attention of the game's governing body.

“I am extremely excited to be playing for Maratha Arabians in the second season of the T10 League. After having played Twenty20 cricket all over the world, I was looking forward to a challenge. Playing the T10 format is the perfect step up for me. I am looking forward to playing the world’s shortest format alongside some iconic players,” said Rashid.

Earlier this year, Afghanistan made their Test debut against India in Bengaluru, where Rashid got his first taste of the 5-day format of the game. This happened after he had a successful IPL season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he picked up 21 wickets and played a key role in helping his franchise make the finals for the second time in three years.

Rashid has become a household name in world cricket at a very young age and that he has been playing so much of franchise T20 cricket in recent times is helping him to sharpen his skillset.

Keeping international cricket in mind in the long run, Rashid Khan is expected to become one of the most well known spinners of all time.
