Zimbabwe will be taking on Australia and Pakistan in a T20I tri-series next month in Harare. With the team fighting its own problems against issues related to payments with the board, the team is embarking on yet another intensely contested series.
Hamilton Masakadza has been elected to lead the side in the series. His experience will be crucial when he leads out a new-look Zimbabwe side in the triangular series against the world’s top two T20I teams, Pakistan and Australia. The hosts will face Pakistan in the first match of the triangular series this Sunday at Harare Sports Club. On Monday, the visiting sides will clash, while Zimbabwe and Australia will lock horns on Tuesday.
Pakistan will then face Zimbabwe on Wednesday and then Australia on Thursday. Zimbabwe will then take on Australia again on Friday in the last match of the round-robin. The top two sides on the points table will meet in the final next Sunday.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe coach Lalchand Rajput is trying his best to arrange the best squad for the series which will give a serious competition to the other two sides.
Regarding the same he said ”To be very honest, I just look at the players who are available and the best 15 or 17 which we have picked,” he said.
"My job is for the people who are available and I want to prepare them well for the tri-series", he further went on to add.
