David Warner looks in the same spirit even after ball-tampering episode, says Ramesh Powar

Tainted Australian swashbuckling batsman, David Warner, has faced some deliveries from the former Indian off-spinner Ramesh Powar at Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence facility in Brisbane, where the opener was seen at his usual natural touch with the willow.

Despite not playing competitive cricket since the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa, Warner didn’t look rusty with the bat, seems he has been preparing for his comeback to the game in the Canadian Premier League, says Powar as per reports in Times of India on Sunday (17 June).

Powar told TOI, “I bowled to him for around 15 minutes with the white ball on a wicket which was prepared to simulate a sub-continental track. He was middling the ball nicely and looked in good touch. If I gave some flight, he was using his feet to smash the ball straight, and if I pitched it a bit short, he would cut me off the back foot. His experience of the Indian conditions, thanks to the IPL, was clearly showing. It seems he's been preparing for his comeback to the game in the Canadian Premier League.”

Besides Warner, Australian tweakers also learned some valuable lessons from Powar in Brisbane and even he also told their spinners about the mindset of the Indian batsmen.

Powar is also impressed with Warner while bowling at him saying that the Aussie is trying to change himself positively.

He signed off by saying, “He looked in good spirits. He was really courteous towards everyone, and, even though I'd never interacted with him before, that gave me an impression that he seems to be trying to change himself positively. He told their spinners about the mindset of the Indian batsmen, India spinners, and what the Indian batsmen think about other Indian batsmen, something which he would've learned as the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper in the IPL.”
