MCC reveals its blueprint to renovate Lord's Cricket ground by 2032

Marylebone Cricket Club has disclosed their ideas to enlarge Lord's cricket ground by 2032. They have revealed their plans for renewing the new Compton and Edrich stands at the venue. MCC has some plans designed to redevelop the historic cricket ground. According to the new execution by MCC, the new three-tier stand is expected to have a capacity of more than 2500 spectators than it was earlier. The stand will have 11,500 spectators watching the game at a single time.

The club will be funding the money by its on and the complete boost of Lord's cricket ground will be costing around GBP 194m. The members of the club had chosen in the favor of MCC latest plan in September previous year with over 90.5 percent of people going in the favor of the conclusion by Marylebone Cricket Club.

There will be a special general meeting held next year to finalize the development of the ground. The club will have to think about the local residents who will be affected by the construction.

The groundwork will only begin after the completion of Ashes series next year and the World Cup 2019. The home of cricket will host 10 World cup matches. The expansion of the cricket ground will safeguard that there is the least housing the top tier alongside with a walking way between two constructions missing the Nursery stands.

MCC is committed to ensuring Lord’s remains the best place in the world at which to watch and play cricket,” MCC chief executive and secretary, Guy Lavender, was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

“These new stands will transform the Nursery End, providing world-class facilities, opening up views both to the Pavilion and back towards the Nursery Ground, and adding another architectural enhancement to Lord’s. We are very aware of the responsibility we have to protect everything that makes Lord’s so special, and we are delighted with the positive feedback we’ve already received from our membership.”
