Describing himself as an eyewitness of the incident, a person claimed that the policeman hit Mrs. Jadeja badly.

Later, the people standing around watching the quarrel came out to rescue Jadeja's wife and sent her to the DSP office. The accused Sanjay Ahir has been taken into custody following Rivaba Jadeja's complaint.

The reports also suggested that there was also Jadeja's child and his mother along with his wife in the car when the incident occurred and even the leg-spinner’s wife has also suffered minor injuries.

However, the Gujarat Police has started its investigation regarding the high-profile case, and Jamnagar Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sejul has given assurance of strong action against the policeman.

As per reports in Hindustan Times, Mr. Sejul stated, “According to reports, Rivaba’s car collided with the bike of constable Sanjay Ahir. After both vehicles stopped, Ahir allegedly attacked Rivaba when she stepped out of the car. She has received some injuries.”

The Police officer further added, “The department has begun the procedure to register an FIR. As assaulting a woman is a serious crime, Ahir is likely to face departmental inquiry and suspension.”

Noteworthy, Jadeja is currently preparing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s IPL 2018 qualifier contest against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which will be held in Mumbai on Tuesday (22 may).
