David Warner, the Australian left-handed opener, has been cleared to play club cricket back home in New South Wales, Australia in the Sydney Premier Cricket season this year. Warner is currently serving a one-year ban by the Cricket Australia for his involvement in the Ball-Tampering scandal that took place in South Africa recently.

Due to which, he has missed the ongoing Indian Premier League season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and is also been dropped from Australia's limited overs squad for the tours of the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.

Warner is desperate to get some cricket under his belt as he tries to be in right shape for the ICC Cricket World Cup next year in England, as by the time his ban will be over.

He will be playing first three or four rounds of games at the start of the Australian club cricket season for his club Randwick Petersham.

Club president and ex-Test fast bowler Mike Whitney was recently quoted saying to the Southern Courier that, “We’re delighted to have him. He’s one of the best players Australia has had since World War Two. He’s been speaking to one of our club officials and he has committed to the first three or four rounds of the season. Why it is only three or four rounds at this stage, I don’t know, Everyone is excited to have him. He will be great in the changing rooms with younger players.”

Earlier the other Australian Cricketer involved in the Ball-Tampering saga, Cameron Bancroft was cleared to play club cricket in Western Australia as he serves a 9-month ban for international cricket.
