Sarfraz Ahmed hoping to do well as Pakistan skipper

Sarfraz Ahmed hoping Kevin Pietersen will join the Quetta Gladiators squad to play the PSL playoffs.

Sarfraz Ahmed –Captain of the Pakistan cricket side, on Saturday, said that appointing him skipper was only decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and he just wants to do justice to authorities' trust.

According to a report in Geo TV, Ahmed told reporters, “It is up to the Pakistan Cricket Board to decide who should and who should not remain captain. My duty is to play cricket, which I am doing. My captaincy is going fine and I am hopeful that it will continue to remain so.”

Sarfraz, who is currently leading the Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing edition of the PSL 2018, lauded his fast bowler Rahat Ali, saying he has played a vital role in the franchise’s successes until now in the T20 tournament.

On Saturday (10 March), Quetta Gladiators has registered a thrilling victory over the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi by six-wicket with the help of Sarfraz Ahmed and Rilee Rossouw's 74-run stand in Dubai. Now, they are placed at the top of the Pakistan Super League point table.

He is also hoping that Kevin Pietersen will join the squad to play the PSL playoffs. Sarfraz further added, “He will defiantly realize that last year we suffered loss because of the absence of four international players. But we have replacements in line as well.”

Sarfarz also didn’t expect his side to be eliminated from the first stage of the PSL2018 with the Quetta Gladiators has been doing well in all departments thus far in the tournament.
