Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh will be a part of the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards 2018 to be held on February 27. It's an annual award ceremony honoring individuals and teams from the world of sports along with sporting achievements throughout the year.

While the 1983 World Cup winning skipper Kapil is an academy member of the Laureus World Sports Awards, Yuvraj has come here as an ambassador.

The Awards Ceremony would be hosted by British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for his TV series 'Sherlock' and his movies 'Dr. Strange' and "The Imitation Game".

The 2018 Awards in Monaco will be the third time Cumberbatch hosts the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards, having previously hosted the 2014 Awards in Kuala Lumpur and the 2015 Ceremony in Shanghai.

The nominees for Laureus World Sportsman of the Year 2018 are Lewis Hamilton, Rafael Nadal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Farah, Roger Federer and Chris Froome.

Federer has been nominated for two categories, Sportsman of the Year, as well as Comeback of the Year. The Swiss tennis legend along with Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, and American surfer Kelly Slater hold the record for the most awards with four each.

From cricket, Australia Men's Cricket Team had won 'Team of the Year' award in 2002. They won the award after extending their winning streak to 16 Test victories.
