The grand finale of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 is confirmed to be held in the proposed venue –Karachi, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) security consultants are satisfied with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Government Officials security arrangement in the country.
On Sunday, ICC security consultants –Reg Dickason and Richard Dennis witnessed a full dress rehearsal at the venue and expressed their satisfaction over the security arrangements in Karachi.
The PSL 2018 will start in the United Arab Emirates on February 22, while the T20 tournament will move to Pakistan for two play-offs on March 20-21 and the final in Karachi on March 25.
According to a report in Cricbuzz, Reg Dickason said, “Whatever we have witnessed today, it's as good as I have seen in all my years of work but I can't say a final word (on hosting the final) now. From what we have seen today and what was demonstrated and documentation and level of commitment by all of these people here, I am very very satisfied.”
He signed off by saying, “It was such comprehensive, thorough and professional presentation with the efforts of all agencies including that of Najam Sethi from the PCB and the board's security department. It is very encouraging and it will be reflected in any subsequent report I will give to the PCB and the ICC.”
