India defeated Australia in the finals of the ICC U19 World Cup 2018 to lift the title for the fourth time.
Australia had batted first and decided to bat first. Jonathan Merlo top scored with 76 runs; as Indian bowling unit systematically dismissed the Aussie batting, as they struggled for momentum. India had a small total to chase, but the openers started cautiously.
India lost Shaw and Gill after brief scores, but Manjot Kalra hit a sublime 101* to take India to win, along with Harvik Desai, who made 47*. India won the match by 8 wickets and became champions of the U19 World Cup.
The Indian team swarmed the field as the winning runs were hit and performed a celebration that was worthy of the occasion.
