The U19 quarterfinal game between Australia and England turned out to be quite an encounter as a low scoring match turned out to be an entertainer.

Winning the toss, Australia elected to bat and were tottering even before they knew it at 4 for 28. Skipper Jason Sangha then carried his bat through till the end to take Australia to 127 before being bowled out inside 34 overs.

England had a great start to their chase. England scored 47  inside the first 8 overs. It was then that Australian skipper Jason Sangha introduced Lloyd Pope into the attack.

He then turned the game on its head for Australia as he went on to take 8 for 35. From being 47 for no loss, Pope's spell bundled England out for 96 as Australia won the game by a margin of 31 runs in a low scoring contest. Needless to say, Pope was also announced the Man of the Match.

Brief scores:
Australia 127 in 33.3 overs (Jason Sangha 58; Ethan Bamber 3-31, Dillon Pennington 3-27, Will Jacks 3-21) beat England 96 in 23.4 overs (Tom Banton 58; Lloyd Pope 8-35) by 31 runs.
