The Victorian fast bowler –Jon Holland, on Monday, made headlines after overshadowing spinning all-rounder Aston Agar and gets selected for the upcoming Test tour of South Africa, starting on March 1.

On January 22, Australia announced a 15-man squad for the South Africa Test series, and Holland is the most shocking. selection.  Australian opener Aaron Finch is not surprised with his inclusion, saying the 29-years-old deserved this selection. 

Holland,  made his Test debut for Australia in 2016 against Sri Lanka, has played only 2 Test, taking five-wickets at an impressive average of 54.80. He took 50 wickets in last year's Sheffield Shield, which helped him to get selected for the South Africa tour.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Aaron Finch said of Holland, “He has been in unbelievable form for a couple of years now. He spins the ball, takes wickets, he is a genuine wicket-taker ... to have over 50 Shield wickets over the last two Shield seasons is outstanding. In big games, Shield finals he has taken five-fours, he is just a fantastic bowler.”

Finch further added on the same, “He's fitter than he has ever been, his shoulder is stronger than it has been for a long time. His batting is underrated, can get some handy runs. Hopefully, he can get a spot in that side because he has deserved it.”

Commenting on another surprise selection –West Australian speedster Jhye Richardson, Finch said, “He (Richardson) bowls quick and can swing the ball, has a lot of great attributes.”

He concluded by saying, “It is exciting when you have raw pace like that. It will be great for Jhye to be in around the Test team. He has had a taste of one-day and Test cricket. He just has to take wickets.”
