Former India great Kapil Dev isn't happy with Hardik Pandya's small mistakes which cost India big time. The great all-rounder asked not to be compared Pandya with him if he continues to repeat the same.

Hardik had got himself run-out in the second Test when India needed him the most. The way he got run-out was very casual and Pandya drew a lot of criticism for showing lacklustre attitude.

Pandya, after his performance in the first Test at Newlands, Cape Town, was compared with India's greatest all-rounder Kapil Dev. However, after the second Test, Dev criticised Pandya's foolish way of dismissal. "If Pandya keeps making silly mistakes like these then he doesn't deserve to be compared with me," Dev told ABP news.

Dev was also unhappy with how he got out in second innings of 2nd Test. When India was already 5 down of 65 runs, Pandya  went after a wide short ball from Ngidi and edged it to the keeper.

"He definitely has a lot of talent, he has shown it in the first Test but I believe he needs to work on the mental aspect," Kapil said.

Former India cricketer Sandeep Patil also mentioned that comparing the two was not ideal because Pandya is still in early stages of his cricketing career.

"I have played a lot of cricket with Kapil, really there is no comparison. Kapil played 15 years for India with terrific performance and Pandya is only in his fifth Test match. There is a long way to go," Patil said.
