Jeet Ashok Raval -   the Indian-born New Zealand Test specialist, on Sunday, played a match-winning knock of 169 runs and helped his New Zealand XI to beat the West Indies by six wickets in a "warm-up" one day match. The hosts will play Windies in a three-match ODI series, starting on 20 December.

The 29-year-old has cemented his spot at the top of the order in the whites for the Black Caps by smashing six half-centuries in just nine matches. Now, Jeet Raval eyes to cement his spot as the New Zealand opener in all formats of the game.

Although Raval is not part of the Black Caps’ ODI squad against the West Indies, the left-hander is confident that he will part of national limited overs set-up in the next couple of years.

As per a report in News Hub, Jeet Raval said, “I would love to be part of that set-up and I know I'm playing Test cricket at the moment, but it would be nice to be playing T20 and one-day cricket at the same time as well because it's a lot of fun. Hopefully, I can be part of that set-up in the next couple of years.”

The opener has an only ton in his 40 ODI domestic games, and Jeet believes that he needs to score plenty of runs in the domestic circuit to make into the NZ limited overs set-up.

Although he admitted that his performance was not so impressive in white ball cricket, but is confident he will make into the national limited overs set-up in the coming years by playing consistent cricket in the domestic circuit.

He concluded by saying, “I can't say that I deserve an opportunity, but it's up to me over the next few months that when there's a lot of white-ball cricket coming up to put up numbers like this. For me, it's all about going out there and performing for my team and making a match-winning contribution every time I go out there. If I can do that consistently then I know that the higher honors will look after itself in years to come.”
