A young cricketer died during a local underarm cricket tournament in the Kasaragod district of Kerala in the southern part of India. The 27 seconds video that was shared on the news channel News9’s Facebook page shows Padmanabh getting ready to bowl at the top of his short run-up when he suddenly fell down.

The on-field umpires and players could then be seen rushing to him for help. But initially, nobody could understand the seriousness of the matter.

The incident happened on 16th December. The 20-year-old cricketer suffered a cardiac arrest and fell on the ground. The Manjeshwara Police Station has registered a case in the matter and will investigate.

Not the first time we saw a young cricketer losing his life. In September,  an Indian cricketer had drowned in a swimming pool and died. The Gujarat-based 12-year-old cricketer was in Sri Lanka with the under-17 team to participate in a tournament.

According to reports in Sri Lanka media, four members of the squad were in the swimming pool of a hotel in Pamunugama. The boy, who reportedly drowned, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to death, reported the Sunday Times.
