Indian U-19 Selection Committee, on Monday, named Prithvi Shaw, Himanshu Rana, and Abhishek Sharma as players who will lead Team A, Team B, and Team C respectively in the Under-19 Challenger Trophy, starting from November 26 to December 2 in Mumbai.
The junior selection committee announced the three squads, comprising of 13 players in each for the Challenger tournament on 6 November 2017. The U-19 tournament will take place immediately after the conclusion of the Under-19 Asia Cup, starting from November 9 to 20 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Prithvi Shaw, who has been in terrific form in the ongoing domestic season, smashed a century on debut in the Duleep Trophy, while hit two hundreds for Mumbai in two matches in the Ranji Trophy 2017-18, while all-rounder Abhishek hit 94 for Punjab and took a four-wicket haul with his left-arm spin in the Ranji tournament.
On the other hand, Himanshu Rana, who is also in the brilliant form with the bat, hit a fifty for Haryana against Gujarat, has been named captain with Abhishek his deputy for the Asia Cup.

The Under-19 Challenger Trophy will be considered as an important part of India’s preparations for the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on January 13 in New Zealand.
