It was recently revealed that Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography "Playing It My Way” will be adapted into a book titled “Chase Your Dreams” targeted specifically towards children. Tendulkar has provided vital inputs in the book.
In the book, Sachin Tendulkar revealed a delicious yet funny incident related to Chinese food and his friends. Sachin was born to Ramesh and Rajni Tendulkar in 1973 and was brought up at Bandra’s Sahitya Sahawas colony.

Sachin is a self-confessed foodie and credits his mother’s yummy fish-prawn curry and other dishes. He recently shared how his first encounter with Chinese food was spoilt due to his friends hogging all the food.
During the early 1980s, Chinese food was making its entry into Mumbai and Sachin and some of his friends decided to try out the new cuisine at a restaurant nearby.
“We each contributed 10 rupees which was a lot of money for me at that time and I was excited about trying something new," says Tendulkar.
"In the restaurant we ordered chicken and sweet corn soup as a starter. We were sitting at a long table and by the time the soup travelled to me at the far end, there was hardly any left. The older members of the group had finished off most of it, leaving very little for us younger ones," he says.
"The same thing happened with the fried rice and chowmein and I barely managed to get two spoonfuls of each. The older boys had a great evening at our expense, but I returned home hungry and thirsty," Tendulkar recalls the incident in a new book.
Sachin Tendulkar loves his mother’s hand cooked food and says,” She used to make the most delicious fish and prawn curry, baigan bharta and varan bhaat for me, and I owe my appetite and love of food to her."
He also mentioned his father in the book saying,” My father set me free at the age of 11 when he told me 'Chase your dreams, but make sure you don't find shortcuts to them.”
