
Indian Women Cricketer and Arjuna Award winner Harmanpreet Kaur on Thursday got the approval of the appointment as DSP in the Punjab police department by the state cabinet.
Punjab cabinet also gave the go-ahead for government jobs to two children of martyr Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh, who was killed and beheaded by Pakistani Army while fighting an infiltration bid at the Line of Control (LoC) in May this year.
The Chief Minister Amarinder had offered the DSP post to Harmanpreet Kaur after her outstanding performance in the recently concluded ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
The 28-year-old batter had accepted the offer as working in the Punjab Police department was her dream and subsequently resigned her job from the Indian Railways to fulfill her dream.

A spokesperson of the Chief Minister s Office (CMO) give the details of the Cabinet’s decisions by saying that the meeting approved the offer of the job of Naib Tehsildar to Simrandeep Kaur, elder daughter of Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh, while ASI post in Punjab Police for his son Sahildeep Singh.
The spokesperson concluded by saying that they will be entitled to their jobs after getting eligibility in case of age and educational qualification.
