Hardik Pandya will miss the three one-day fixtures for India A against Australia A starting October 6 in Puducherry due to a recurring shin injury, TOI reported.

According to the report, a fresh set of scans revealed pain and an issue in his right shin, derailing his progress at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team has reportedly advised further rest, sidelining him from competitive play.

This persistent shin issue has consistently disrupted his comeback timeline, causing him to miss multiple critical assignments over the last few months.

As per the report, Pandya was ruled out of the Afghanistan ODIs in June and T20Is against the same opposition this month close to the selection days due to sudden leg discomfort.

The ace all-rounder was also considered for a late entry into the Asian Games but could not attain full fitness.

Considering the mandatory rest period for next 10-15 days and subsequent rehabilitation timeline, it is highly unlikely Hardik Pandya will travel for the five-match T20I series against New Zealand beginning October 22.

The report also suggests that the selectors and team management are taking a cautious approach to avoid rushing his recovery, keeping the 2027 ODI World Cup as his ultimate long-term milestone.

The BCCI has maintained silence on Pandya’s fresh injury setback and his replacement for India A fixtures. However, Suryansh Shedge, who is currently training at the CoE, could replace him in the squad.
