The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recalled seven players from the Pakistan team in the middle of the ongoing three-Test series against England. This drastic step was taken after Pakistan went down in the second Test at Lord’s by 194 runs and is 0-2 down in the series.

And now a report has revealed that the 7 players- Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Ali Usman, Khurram Shahzad, Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, and Muhammad Awais Zafar- found out about their fate on social media.

According to The Telegraph report, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management made little effort to inform the players that they were being pulled from the squad and transported to Pakistan on the earliest available aircraft.  

Some were walking the streets of London, while others were relaxing in their hotels, when notifications from friends and family began to arrive regarding the PCB's news statement.

As per the report, the prevalent attitude among the banned players is 'shock and uncertainty,' with one believing he was 'scapegoated' despite doing reasonably well. He is claimed to have examined the press release several times, 'originally assuming it was fake,' until he was told it wasn't.

The Pakistan dressing room is reportedly a place where there is a lot of turmoil, and it is in a confused state after losing the first two Tests, and the mood has soured further with the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB’s latest decision.

Since Imam-ul-Haq's calf ailment was thought to be "fake," the board was understandably "furious" and opened an investigation.

However, Mohammad Rizwan did not win any favors either. According to the Telegraph article, PCB is now dissatisfied with his 'impact in the dressing room, feeling he has become a disruptive presence, despite Rizwan formerly being the nation's darling due to his consistent performances across formats.

Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jr., Saad Baig, Mohammad Imran Randhawa, and Razaullah have been called up as replacements.
