Pakistan lost the second Test at Lord’s by a huge margin of 194 runs, thereby conceding an unassailable 2-0 lead to England in the three-match series.

After the latest debacle, the Pakistan team management and the PCB have taken the unprecedented step of releasing Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, and Imam-ul-Haq from the Test squad, Cricbuzz reported.

The performances of all three players were below par in the England series, which is part of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

This sweeping reshuffle comes at a low point for Pakistan, who have now lost five of their last six Test matches.

According to the report, six players are being called up to join the squad under emergency visa arrangements. These include Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, Arafat Minhas, Rohail Nazir, Mohammad Imran, and Razaullah Khan.

Moreover, the Pakistan coaching staff is also undergoing a major overhaul ahead of the third Test at Edgbaston, slated to begin on September 9.

White-ball head coach Mike Hesson takes immediate charge of the Test side. The New Zealander is already in England and will guide the team through the remainder of the current WTC cycle.

Current Test head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul have been sidelined but will continue to travel with the team.
