T Dilip’s tenure as the Indian fielding coach ended, and he penned a heartfelt note on social media while bidding farewell to the Men in Blue side. Dilip was India men's fielding coach from 2021 to the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
In 2021, Dilip succeeded R Sridhar as India's fielding coach and joined head coach Rahul Dravid's support team, which also included Paras Mhambrey and Vikram Rathour.
He was the only member of Rahul Dravid's support staff still working in the backroom of current head coach Gautam Gambhir, having been kept on Rohit Sharma's recommendation.
He began working as a support staff member for Gambhir in 2024, and his contract was initially valid until May 2025. He did, however, receive a temporary extension last year and went on tour with the Indian squad in England.
Dilip’s role as fielding coach came under scrutiny as the Indian team continued to spill regulation catches during India's recent tours to Ireland and England.

Fielding has always been my way of contributing to the game I love, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have played a part in this team’s journey. The fielding medal will always hold a very special place in my heart. Seeing the excitement it created in the dressing room, the smiles it brought, and the value the players attached to it are memories I’ll carry with me forever.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has named Subhadeep Ghosh as the new Indian team fielding coach. His tenure will begin with India’s upcoming two-Test series in Sri Lanka. Ghosh, 57, was India Women's fielding coach in the past. He participated in the 2022 Women's ODI World Cup and the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup during his two years with them.
In addition, he has coached the senior men's squad from Assam and worked with India A. He was a right-handed hitter who played for Assam and Railways in 17 first-class games and an equal number of List A games throughout his playing career.
