During the IPL 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earlier this season, Australian batter Travis Head finally spoke out about his alleged feud with Virat Kohli.  

Cameras saw Kohli avoiding the post-game handshake with Head during the game at Hyderabad's Uppal Stadium, which caused a great deal of controversy.  

A few months after the incident, Head has stated that there is nothing that needs to be fixed between him and Kohli and that these kinds of situations are normal in the sport.

"I don't think there's anything to patch over. That's just that's what it is. That's yeah. No surprises with how the competition went or what went on. So as expected," Head told Code Sports.

Following the incident, Head's wife, Jessica Davies, disclosed that she had been mistreated by fans on social media, characterizing the situation as emotionally taxing for her and the family.

Head, on the other hand, minimized the controversy and implied that being a professional entails public criticism. Nevertheless, the southpaw acknowledged that the incident had an impact on others around him.

"I think Jessica and I have a great perspective on things. That's the world we live in, and I think she's amazing in how she handles that kind of stuff. It was more that the family stuff was built around it, flowing on to other family members who don't particularly see that sort of stuff," he said.

Head praised Jessica for handling the difficult situation with extreme grace.

"Everyone forgets about it in a few days' time. She handled it extremely well. It's probably handling it with others and what other people's perspective of what things are like," added Head.

Head’s SRH made it into the playoffs, but Virat Kohli’s RCB went on to win the IPL 2026, their second successive IPL win.
