Sri Lanka A and India A are clashing in the final of the one-day tri-series at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on June 21, 2026. Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Ararachige won the toss and chose to bowl first.

India A opened with Priyansh Arya and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Much was expected of Sooryavanshi, who had a disappointing series so far. However, the two openers added 132 runs for the first wicket in just 8.5 overs.

And the majority of the runs from the partnership came from Sooryavanshi, who smashed 94 in just 29 balls with 10 fours and 8 sixes to his name. During his knock, Sooryavanshi reached his fifty in just 11 balls, with 5 fours and 5 sixes to his name. This is the fastest fifty ever in List-A cricket.

He looked like equaling the record for fastest List-A century as well, held by Jake Fraser McGurk off 29 balls, but got out trying to hit a big one to reach the milestone.

However, his knock was appreciated by everyone watching the game and on social media as well. This included former India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav.

Yadav, who was not picked for India’s tour to Ireland and England for the T20Is and was also removed as T20I captain, replaced by Shreyas Iyer, took to Instagram to share a special post for the teenager.

He shared a creative of Sooryavanshi with his stats from the innings, and wrote “50 in 11 balls and baaki ka karyakarm alag, Toooofan”, on his Instagram story.

Sooryavanshi will next be seen in action when India visits Ireland and England for the T20Is, as he has been named in the Indian squad for the series.
