There is an ongoing joke on social media that there is a Jofra Archer tweet for every occasion. A missed catch, a freak collapse, a political upset, a last-ball finish, or even a strange IPL moment from years ago—an old post from Archer's account reappears and matches the occasion perfectly.
Over time, Archer's old tweets become cricket folklore. Several of his years-old posts went viral during the 2019 ODI World Cup because fans believed they had "predicted" crucial occurrences in the competition.
The phenomena resurfaced over IPL seasons, particularly when David Miller failed to complete a chase for Delhi Capitals and hammered four sixes off Lungi Ngidi in 2020.
However, Archer claims there is no secret behind the messages.
“When you try, it doesn’t happen, so just let it happen naturally,” Archer told Star Sports with a laugh while speaking about his viral tweets.
The England fast bowler confessed that paying continual attention to his previous social media activity may be tiresome at times, especially as supporters now try to relate practically every post to a cricketing incident.
“If you tweet something that has no relation to cricket, then you’ve got thousands of people just putting cricket-related stuff under it. It’s a task sometimes. If I tweet anything, someone’s like, ‘I wonder how long this would take to come to pass’ and stuff like that. It’s funny sometimes, but once in a while, it gets a bit much,” Archer stated.
The bizarre internet mythology around his account seemed to amuse him more. However, he also said that the joke has gradually altered his current social media usage.
Outside of cricket, some of Archer's previous tweets have also surfaced. The internet joke that there is "a Jofra Archer tweet for everything" was strengthened earlier this year when one of his old posts went popular amid actor Vijay's political success in Tamil Nadu.
The speaker further clarified that many of the so-called prophecies are not nearly as precise as people think; rather, they seem pertinent since they readily match various circumstances.
“A lot of them just actually fit pretty seamlessly. One of the tweets can fit probably any cricket situation, to be honest,” Archer stated.
Archer will be in focus when Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians in their final IPL 2026 league game on May 24 in a bid to qualify for the playoffs. Archer has been in fine form with 18 wickets in 13 games with an economy of 9.14 and best bowling figures of 3/20.
