The PCB is reportedly looking into Mohammad Nawaz after he tested positive for recreational drug use. As a result, Nawaz's agreement to play for Surrey in the T20 Blast in England has collapsed.

Mohammad Nawaz has played 6 Tests, 44 ODIs, and 98 T20Is for Pakistan and has a cumulative of 166 wickets and 1593 runs in international cricket.

According to ESPNcricinfo, tests conducted earlier this year during the T20 World Cup produced the favorable outcome. Nawaz, 32, scored 15 runs and claimed seven wickets in all seven of Pakistan's games in Sri Lanka before they were ousted at the Super Eight stage.

"The International Cricket Council (ICC) has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about this matter, and the PCB has begun the due process. The results of this process will be communicated to the ICC today,” a PCB spokesperson told ESPNCricinfo.

Nawaz was expected to be available for the duration of the Blast, which takes place from May 26 to July 18, after agreeing to sign with Surrey. Surrey had intended to announce Nawaz's signing this week after the PCB revealed two weeks ago that he had received a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Blast.

But as a result of him testing positive for recreational drug use, the deal to join Surrey has fallen through, and Nawaz will not be joining the club anymore.

Nawaz is currently playing the PSL 2026 for Multan Sultans and has scored 36 runs and took 6 wickets in 8 games thus far.
