Sanju Samson made a fan’s day after a roadside encounter turned into an unforgettable day for him. During a brief stop in Kerala, Sanju Samson presented him with a fresh new smartphone.

According to Mathrubhumi English, the incident occurred near Punchappadam School on the Mundur-Thootha route in Palakkad, where the cricketer had stopped during his travel. According to the report, Sanju was driving from Kozhikode to Coimbatore when he pulled over at 5:15 p.m. to answer a phone call.

At the same moment, Shabareesh, a cable technician from Katampazhippuram, and his friend Manikandan were on their way to a nearby cricket ground in Mangalankunnu when they observed someone familiar inside a parked car. Curious, the two turned back to get a better look and realized it was Sanju Samson.

Samson was on a video call and asked them to wait for a bit. After the conversation, he talked with them, inquiring about their well-being and even offering to snap a picture. Shabareesh took a selfie with his own phone, which had a damaged display. Sanju noticed this and unlocked the back of his car, gifting him a new smartphone valued roughly at Rs 30,000.

After a brief talk, he resumed his journey, leaving Shabareesh and his companions surprised by his unexpected gesture.  

After a brilliant outing for India in the T20 World Cup 2026, where he won the Player of the Tournament, Sanju Samson has struggled for runs in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Playing for his new franchise, the Chennai Super Kings, Samson has opened the batting and registered scores of 6, 7, and 9 in his first three outings.
