Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has stated that the BCCI as a whole should not be blamed in the controversy surrounding his ending his BCCI commentary career, adding that Jay Shah, the former secretary, and his team are unrelated to his situation.

Sivaramakrishnan explained that a single board member has affected his commentary career, not the BCCI as a whole.

“I am retiring from commentary for BCCI," Sivaramakrishnan tweeted on Friday afternoon.

Sivaramakrishnan clarified his prior message in a subsequent post. He seemed to be making direct accusations against the BCCI.

“If I have not been used for tosses and presentations for 23 years, while newcomers handle pitch reports, tosses, and presentations, even when Shastri was coaching, what do you think could be the reason?" Sivaramakrishnan posted on X.

As Sivaramakrishnan’s post went viral on social media, the fans began blaming BCCI and dragged Jay Shah into the fray, as he was the secretary of BCCI before moving on to ICC.  Shah never held the position of BCCI president, but because of his powerful family, many regard him as the organization's de facto leader.

Following criticism of Jay Shah on social media, Sivaramakrishnan emphasized on March 21 that Shah and his group were not responsible for the unjust treatment he endured.

“Don’t bring the BCCI Administration into the picture. It is a one-on-one with an employee of the BCCI," Sivaramakrishnan clarified.

Although Sivaramakrishnan has not yet disclosed the employee's name, it appears from his posts that he is getting closer to doing so.
