Sydney Strikers captain Moises Henriques spoke about the equation between Steve Smith and Babar Azam in the ongoing BBL 15 season. The dispute between Babar Azam and Steve Smith did not conclude immediately but rather lasted a few days, Henriques revealed.
Tempers rose during the Sixers' play against the Sydney Thunder when Smith disallowed Babar a single, causing hostility between the two. Babar was eventually out for 47, and the Pakistani batsman displayed his annoyance by slapping the boundary cushion on his way back to the dressing room.
A few days later, Smith confirmed that all was good between the two, as footage of the two conversing about golf surfaced.
"He's good, we chatted before. I thought he batted really nicely the other night, we had a good partnership and put on a few,” he said during a conversation with the broadcasters.
However, the issue did not go away quickly, with one story suggesting that Babar caused a commotion in the locker room and felt disrespectful, despite the Sixers' victory.
After Babar tossed his wicket away in disgust, Smith slammed a century, including four sixes in an over, after ensuring he kept strike in the Power Surge by turning down the single.
During the Qualifier match of BBL 15, Sixers captain Moises Henriques was mic’d up on the field and, while speaking to Fox Cricket, spilled the beans on exactly what happened between Babar and Smith.
“It took a couple of days for it to settle down. To be honest, I think it was just a bit of a misunderstanding of cultures. It’s a pretty common thing in our culture, and for him, he wasn’t used to it. Didn’t quite understand. Once it was explained to him, he was absolutely fine. They kissed and made up. I played a role post-game, and so it should be. He was quite upset with what happened on the field. So, we needed to try to understand why he felt that way. So once we got to the bottom of it, it was ok,” Henriques said.

Babar Azam’s maiden BBL sojourn has not been a happy one. He was out for a two-ball duck as the Sydney Sixers were bowled out for 99 against the Perth Scorchers in Perth Stadium in the Qualifier match. Steve Smith made 37 as the Sixers lost the game by 48 runs.
Earlier, Scorchers were asked to bat first and thanks to 49 by Finn Allen and 29 by skipper Ashton Turner, posted 147/9 in 20 overs.
