Puducherry captain Aman Khan, who was recently picked up by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2026 auction, achieved an unwanted record in a recent Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 match. This happened when Puducherry clashed with Jharkhand in Ahmedabad on December 29, 2025.
Puducherry captain Aman Khan won the toss and chose to bowl first. Utkarsh Singh made 74, while captain Kumar Kushagra made 105 with 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Anukul Roy smashed 98*in 53 balls with 7 fours and 8 sixes. Even Mohammad Kounain Quraishi made 43 in 35 balls as Jharkhand posted 368/7 in 50 overs.
Puducherry was never in the chase, and despite 60 by Jashwanth Shreeram’s 60 and 47 by Neyan Shyam Kangayan, they could only make 235 and lost the game by 133 runs.
However, the focus was on Aman Khan, who was taken to cleaners by Jharkhand batters and ended up conceding 123 runs in his 10 overs, and took one wicket. This is now the most expensive spell in the history of men’s List A cricket.
The previous record for the most expensive spell in a men's List A match was held by Arunachal Pradesh pacer Mibom Mosu, who gave out 116 runs in nine overs against Bihar last month. This is the same match in which Bihar vice-captain Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed 190, becoming the youngest centurion in List A history. runs
The Chennai Super Kings purchased Aman, who made his List A debut for Mumbai in 2021 before moving to Puducherry, for INR 40 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction earlier this month. After playing for the Delhi Capitals in 2023, a year after making his tournament debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022, Chennai will be his third IPL team.
He has participated in 11 IPL games over the course of two seasons, accumulating 115 runs at a strike rate of 110.57, including one fifty. Having just bowled once in the competition while playing for Delhi in 2022, he has yet to claim a wicket.
