The Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana wedding has been marred by health concerns. The duo was supposed to get married on November 23, but then Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell ill and had to be hospitalized.
Soon after, Palash Muchhal himself was admitted to the hospital in Sangli due to a viral infection and increased acidity. However, reports in NDTV have revealed that Palash Muchhal had been shifted to a hospital in Mumbai.
Palash had to be shifted to SVR Hospital in Goregaon, Mumbai, and sources stated that he was under a lot of stress due to his constant travel for weddings and concerts, which finally affected his health. It is currently unknown how serious Palash's health problem is.
According to a story in the Hindustan Times, Palash chose to postpone the wedding because Smriti's father grew ill. Palash's mother, Amita, told the paper that Palash was fond of Smriti's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, and the news of his illness shocked him, so he decided to postpone the wedding ceremony.
"Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai... Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain. Jab unko hogaya toh Smriti se phele Palash ne decision liya ke usko abhi phere nahi karne jab tak uncle thik nahi ho jaate (Palash is extremely attached to Smriti's father... The two of them are even closer than Smriti is with him. When he fell ill, it was Palash, before Smriti, who decided that they should not go ahead with the wedding rituals until he got better," Palash’s mother stated.
Palash's mother also said that learning of Mr. Mandhana's heart condition hurt her kid, who couldn't stop crying.
"Since the haldi was done, we didn't let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat karab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna padha. IV drip chadi, ECG hua aur dosre tests hoye. Sab normal aaye, but stress bahut hai (He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress,” she stated.
Amita described how joyous he had been the previous day.
“Ek din phele bahut dance kiya… Instagram pe Stories dal rahe the. But while we were planning the baraat, he suddenly felt discomfort. Pehle bataya nahi… Jab badhne lagi, ambulance bulai. Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome. Everything will be fine… Shaadi bohot jaldi hogi,” Amrita stated.
