The 2018 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been terrific for Rishabh Pant despite his franchise Delhi Daredevils (DD) failing to make it to the IPL Playoffs. The youngster has been one of the sensations of the ongoing 11th edition of the IPL 2018 owing to his outstanding efforts with the willow.

In this IPL 2018, the 20-year-old left-hander has been phenomenal with the bat, as he finished the tournament with 684 Runs at an average of 52.62 and strike rate of 173.60, hitting 37 sixes, which is the most by any batsman this season, and 68 fours in his 5 half-centuries and one century.

His maiden IPL ton (128*) came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and with his record 684 runs, Pant becomes the highest scorer in the T20 event so far.

On Sunday (20 May), DD played their last match of their IPL 2018 campaign and Rishabh displayed another brilliant side of his batting, hammering 64 off 44 balls to help the hosts to post 174 for four in a must-win match for the Mumbai Indians. Later, Delhi bowlers brilliantly defended the total and watered out on MI’s hope to qualify for the IPL 2018 Playoffs, finishing up the tournament with a winning style.

Meanwhile, the young wicket-keeper batsman has been continuously dominating the headlines for his sublime form with the bat, and his Sunday’s display has left fans to cricket pundits in awe for Pant.

Even Twitterati believes that the young Delhi lad will be soon playing at the senior level, and even cricket commentator and analyst Aakash Chopra called him a special player.
