Former England captain and currently commentating in the IPL 2018, Michael Vaughan has been impressed by the Indian Premier League’s quality. He was also full of praise for giving the U19 players a platform where they test their skills against the best in the world.
However, this praise from Vaughan didn’t go well with England pacer Jade Dernbach, who played 24 ODIs and 34 T20s. He accused Vaughan of going overboard with his appreciation of the IPL, insisting English cricket is fair and competitive.
Vaughan had written an article for a website in India, comparing the U19 cricket scene in England and India and hailed IPL for giving the youngsters a chance to play against the best. Dernbach however, took offense to it and tweeted, “Keep plugging the IPL Michael clearly county cricket and our young players development is not top of your priorities list.”

Vaughan replied: “Passionately care about our system .. Love the fact you are all of a sudden promoting the 4 day game .. wished we had more like you .. I am sure you wouldn’t be interested in an IPL deal at all.”

The war continued between Vaughan and Dernbach and some of the tweets are given below.
All of a sudden Michael not sure that is true been playing for a while now and I thought this was about young players. Don’t pretend to care, I take our game seriously and the development of good English talent.

Your reply has confirmed this had nothing to do with talent in our country. Hope the commentary stint in the ipl finishes well.
